Freebie night! For anyone interested to get CrossOver for Macs and Linux. Link here. Their servers are overloaded but you can still register and get the license in a few days.
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering ... Hey! I'll be getting a macbook soon and I think this app would be very useful as I'm currently looking for alternative mac apps to replace those that I got accustomed with in win. CrossOver will surely help in the transition. Thanks a lot bacchus_3 !
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver Thanks for the heads-up. I've registered for the serial. Just a question though, since I haven't used CrossOver before. Do I need to download any of the special unlocked builds offered on the serial registration page or are the said builds a separate (special) offering?
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver hi reivi400, I don't actually know but I downloaded them anyway. I'll install them later in the day and see what 'unlocked' version means.
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver can i still have this?

Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver what system does this supports? it says to me, my system is not supported.
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver Hi, CrossOver supports Mac OS X running on Intel Macs. From what I know, it doesn't run on PPC Macs.
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver mine isn't kc. sad thanks reivi400.
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08) Although the site says it got overloaded, I just registered and it said, "Thank you. Your email has been recorded. You will recieve your serial code in a few days." Wrong spelling pa. Anyway, thanks for the link. UPDATE: I registered around 12:58pm MNL time. Nakahabol pa. Right now, wala na.
Crossover: Not worth my time I don't know with all of you guys, but this software barely works. There are so few supported and fully usable applications. I'd rather use VMWare Fusion 2 to run all of my Windows applications so everything runs smoothly.
Re: Crossover: Not worth my time The only thing I use Crossover for now is Team Fortress 2 which plays great (Crossover Games). Like you I'd rather use my VMWare for all the other <more important> stuff. It's cool that they gave licenses away for free, although I already have one.
Re: Crossover: Not worth my time For low-memory footprint or simple applications, CrossOver is enough. You'd only need the license for the supported app and Cross Over. While for Fusion or Parallels, you'd need a more expensive virtualization app, a Windows license, and the app itself. If license is no issue, the larger memory footprint of the virtualization app slows the system down. For my case, I'd only need it for eWallet and nothing else. So it really depends on what your needs are
Re: FREEBIE for TODAY only (10/28/08): Codeweavers offering free license of CrossOver Does anyone have a list of useful programs/games compatible with Crossover? The bundled applications include IE and MS Office, but that's really useless if you already have Office for Mac and the built-in Safari.
