Any philmugger familiar with folding bikes available locally? Nothing fancy---just something that is light, easy to fold/unfold and used for leisure purposes only (no long distance biking). Some brands I encountered: Trinx Crius Fnhon Of course there's Dahon and Brompton but I'd like to limit my budget to just 12k per bike as we're getting two units. Hopefully there's someone here familiar with the brands and can provide advise where to buy and other considerations to look for when buying folding bikes.
I bought my wife a BTWIN Tilt 120 folding bike from Decathlon (I think a few years back na) for PHP 10,000. Nothing fancy really and it’s pretty decent. Got her from the house to the gym where she teaches at. I like that it has a lot of provisions for attaching lights in the front and back for maximum visibility.
https://www.facebook.com/coolstuff168 This store has lots of selection and very well known to Folding Bike Riders I have the Java Zelo * They Repair Macs & PC too
Been using Trinx Dolphin for almost 8 years na never had a problem from short grocery runs to 60KM rides
For Me.. Its been good so far.. a tad heavy side 13kgs being a budget & 20" wheelsets Aeroic Brand / Pacific BIke folding bikes are outpricing Zelo at under 10k with upgraded Hydraulic Disc Brakes & 9speed Cogs this 2021 *Saw great FB features from this YT channel..
Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided to get the Aeroic Rover (one model down to what was featured in the YouTube videos posted by @catalysmic as there are no Aeroic Space units available). After a few biking sessions, my husband now wants a Brompton!
doing some research on folding bikes as my wife is enjoying her BTWIN 120 are the parts easily replaceable? if I buy a 6 speed folding bike overseas and something happens to its drivetrain, can I use any 6 speed set to have it replaced?
For replacement parts, you might want to check out online stores like Wiggle, Chain Reaction Cycles, or even Amazon. They usually have a wide selection of bike components, and you can find reviews to ensure compatibility. If you're considering a 6-speed drivetrain replacement, brands like Shimano and SRAM are reliable choices. Just make sure it matches the specifications of your current setup. As for local shops selling Brompton bikes, it depends on your location. You can try checking with well-known bike shops in your area, or visit the official Brompton website. They often have a dealer locator tool to help you find authorized sellers nearby.
