i have a problem with my macbook alum. occasionaly, when i turn on my macbook after sleep mode, screen starts to flicker. this lasts for a few seconds. is it a sign of hardware failure or gfx card starting to fail? im still covered with warranty but are they going to replace my macbook? i already changed my hdd (upgrade). thanks guys.
I've read about this. This also affects some MacBook Pros. Better get it checked up on an Apple service center. I think one of the causes of it is a loose LCD inverter ata. If they'll service your MacBook, they'll probably just replace the LCD and not the whole unit.
I've had this before. They replaced my lcd. It would be better to bring in to the service center asap. It gets worse, believe me.
waaaa... thanks for the inputs guys. the problem is whether i can afford be laptop-less for a few days. usually how long till they replace the lcd?
What if it doesn't flicker when its at the shop? Will the staff believe your word for it or do you REALLY have to prove it somehow? :S My screen also flickers from time to time....
I believe they'll test it out (wait it out) and you'll have to leave your unit in their hands while they observe it.
