After the updates finished installing, i tried to open the app but the dock icon just bounces for a little while and the app never opens. I tried rebooting, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? TIA
try uninstalling then reinstall firefox, but if you uninstalled your bookmarks will be erase. a liite bit OT, do you like firefox than safari?
how do i uninstall? the reason im leaning towards firefox is that im used to it hehe. but if i can't fix this, i might try safari then
@boy_jorg: If on windows, use the Software uninstaller in Control Panel in add/remove programs (Win XP, not sure how on Vista). If on Mac OSX, move the app from the Applications Folder into trash, and then empty trash.
or download the firefox application, it will over write your current application, if it can't fix, i think uninstalling is your last resort. uninstalling: just send to trash the firefox application
Oh i see, i thought i need to remove something in the Library to fully uninstall. I have placed the app in the trash and downloaded the app from the homepage. Still, the problem persists.
@boy_jorg: Try downloading another installation copy of Firefox. The one you downloaded may have been a corrupt copy or an incomplete download.
try clearing the cache and cookies.. that might help but im sure its not! so you're done with reinstalling and still it doesn't work right? try updating your OS or check for any updates for Firefox.. i think our last option is to use Safari then..
from what i heard, the latest version of firefox, 3.0.5, is still unstable. Maybe that is the reason why you keep on experiencing such problems. I myself is currently using an older version, 3.0.1. You may also like to try Google's Chrome if you still don't want to use Safari as your main browser.
old firefox user here as well.. and haven't got to the point that i update my firefox.. so there might be a chance that the update might cause the dilemma... hmmm! yeah zirkwander is right, you can also use Google Chrome for the meantime.. as what people says "Pansamantagal".. hehehe!
Yep, i have done reinstalling the app still no help. Probably because the latest release is unstable. My OS is also updated. Im liking safari, mejo sanay lang sa FF
hmmm.. too bad boy_jorg.. yeah safari is good but sometimes, some website may not suite with safari and you need an alternate browser..
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but since this is about Firefox problems, I'm having one: I can't seem to download anything from Firefox. Says I have to change directory or something. I tried changing settings in the preference pane, but nothing. Any ideas?
hi sir boy_jorg, try downloading the lower version of firefox, like 3.0 version. Also try to check if the folders of firefox is still installed on your machine. hope this help
hi sir dominiquejames. try to set the download files location to desktop. but worse come to worse reinstalling firefox
Try deleting the Firefox preference file under Library/Preferences folder. The latest VLC would not work on my old Macbook and my current Unibody MBP until I deleted the old preference file.
