Hi guys, recently switched back to iOS after 4 years. I archived two backups of my iPhone via itunes. Is there any way to restore sms from one of the backups without overwriting the ones currently on my phone? Tried to restore via backup and it deleted all the current sms. TIA!

try backing up the messages in your iTunes via iCloud & you should be able to access those messages again via your iPhone.
