Experts? Replacing toolbar icon in Firefox

    Hi!

I'm trying to make my Firefox's look more consistent with Leopard's interface. I've downloaded this skin http://fyton5.deviantart.com/art/Spectrum-64809423 and applied it to Firefox. However, I use 1Password (an excellent Password manager) which uses a toolbar icon that is inconsistent with the Leopard skin. I wanted to change my 1password toolbar icon to closely resemble the 1Password's toolbar specific icon for Safari. I already figured out how to replace the 1password icon and I'm planning to use 1password's icon for Safari and use it in Firefox.

    Here are my concerns:

    1. The skin I use (link above) uses the exact toolbar icons in Safari and Finder but slightly smaller. How do I determine the size of his toolbar icon myself? I already looked at the author's website but he didn't mentioned anything about it.

    2. What is the easiest way to resize an image file?

I know it's a very small deal but one icon can destroy the "Mac" experience. Hehe! Thank you in advance for your inputs.

Here is the result of a quick workaround:

To answer your first question, you don't need to know the dimensions of the icon for Firefox since the program only uses two icon sizes for its toolbars, 24 by 24 pixels and 16 by 16 pixels PNG's. You can however have oddly shaped PNG files within reason. In the example above I resized the PNG to be 28 by 23 pixels.

As for your second question, this is rather problematic. You can easily resize a PNG using the ImageWell program, which is freeware. The problem is PNG's become blurry when resized due to the nature with which it saves color information. If you scale up that PNG it will become blurry.

How did I make the icon? I just used Skitch to take a screenshot of it, erased a portion of the icon in Photoshop, typed in the text, and saved it as Firefox24.png... Might not be want you want but it was an interesting puzzle, took me all of 4 minutes to do...

Oh thanks for pointing out the cool Firefox skin... I've been using the default one for a while... This was a nice look...

    Primo,

Glad to help! Do you mind sharing those pre-made icon? Also, if it's really not a big deal to you, can you make me an optimized "keyhole" icon? I kinda prefer it over the "1p" icon. I don't know how to use photoshop.

Sure no problem. I've trashed the 1P icon though, here's one I made with the keyhole one, just download the attachment, enjoy...

Thanks! If by any chance you get to tweak the icon some more, can you kindly post it?
