ok guys, admit it, the magsafe adaptor cord is never long enough to reach the wall outlet! (in most coffee shops, boardrooms, function rooms, in most cases!)

aside from the 3 slot omni brand , whats your alternative? - preferably may bling factor sana...

    TIA!

I always use the magsafe AC power cord and imho that's long enough. :)

I use the included 2 meter extension cord that came with the MacBook when I purchased it. (like clcabatbat mentioned)

Just like this pic, except the plug is the UK/Hong Kong type, not the double flat blade pictured:

@eyepon: not very bling, but I've noticed that the 1.5m detachable cord on my rice cooker fits perfectly into the slot of the Magsafe Square when you remove the double-bladed duckhead plug or the extension cord. It's the figure-8 saksakan with two holes in it like in the extension cord pictured above.

@mousehole & bad_boy: Similar taste in profile pics?

@eyepon: Did you get your MacBook second hand? Or did yours not come with the extension cord?

My mb's magsafe has the longest cord length among all the other laptop AC adapters I've had.

i use a generic extension cord (abpit 3M long) so as not to stretch and strain my magsafe. my ibook magsafe caught on fire before so ayokong maulit yun with my macbook. plus with the generic extension cord i can plug in other stuff like my cellphone.

mousehold: Hehe, yes. I've never had to bust out the extension. OK, fine, that a bit of a cheat. I never plug if it's too far away; I get quite nervous with the thought of someone tripping over it (I know that the Magsafe will keep my Air from falling, but that same Magsafe is also expensive to replace).

rafaelc378: I just noticed it. Mine isn't nearly as physically impressive as his, though :D

yup, the extension that came with your mac solves the length problem.

the problem i have seen is that the duckhead casing separates from its other half, exposing the wiring/innards... how did this happen & how to prevent it?

personally i dont have a problem with the cord's length (though its somewhat shorter vs. the cord from other laptops).

i have more concerns on its durability. had to have my magsafe replaced last week. the damn thing is too sensitive :(

Don't have any issue with length. The extension is fine by me.

my guess is when the magsafe is stretched too far, too often. this happened naman to my ibook clamshell and with my ibook g4 magsafe(s). the former was patched up with electrical tape. pero pangit, the latter caught on fire.

yup. i don't use the 2m extension cord naman kasi it's thick and unwieldy inside my bag. and sometimes it doesn't go far enough for my needs.

personally, having witnessed two of my chargers burn/fray/wear out already, i've resorted to the generic 3M cord found in supermarkets (omni yung brand i think) for my charging needs.
