I haven't found anyone here with this error yet.

    Error:
"Drive" can't be used because it doesn't use the GUID partition table scheme

Why am I getting this error?

    TIA

    EDIT:
    More info:
My HDD is WD 500gb - carbon copied from my old original mac hard drive
Current format: Mac OS Extended Journaled

    Update:
I was able to find something about it here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2131547&start=0&tstart=0

But I'm still reading through it since some of the responses are somewhat technical...
    :(

You need to backup your HD, then use Disk Utility from the Snow Leopard DVD to re-partition your HD to 1 partition. Then click on Options and select GUID partition table. If you didn't do that before you cloned your HD, it's probably using the default Master Boot Record partition table, for PC compatibility.

or maybe you can go to the nearest apple service center and have them oversee the installation process.

don't forget to back up all your files! :O

    Thanks Enuhski!
I'll try that when I get home. And I'll be sure to back-up my files.
