Im using a macbookair, entourage 2008 v12.1 since yesterday, i've been getting this error message: An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. with error number -3259 i've been searching for a solution, but to no avail. anyone else encountered this? how'd you solve it? thanks. btw, i've also tried using apple mail.. i cant receive/send emails either. :redface::redface::redface:
I'm an entourage user as well. I get that when it have a problem with the connection especially if its too slow. Are you using wifi? This is a normal thing since it depends on the connectivity so it's expected since your apple mail is also affected. If you'll try browsing, it will be give the same problem - connectivity.
yup i use wifi, but that doesnt seem to be the problem because i can surf pretty fast. anyway i experienced that -3259 errors for 3 days. i was able to receive and send again this afternoon.yey! and i did not even change any settings in my entourage. according to some of the forums i've read though, -3259 is caused by "miscommunication" between your ISP and domain/mail provider(?). like your isp may be blocking some ports that help prevent spam etc. so that's what i did yesterday, called both zpdee and our mail provider. both said they'll have their programmers check my problem yadiyada.. don't know who did their job, but im glad im back in business

Great you're back on track. You should try the Speech as well, it's cool when it advises me that Entourage needs my attention. Have fun exploring Entourage.
hi libra! actually as you can see in my last post, my entourage isn't working again ::redface: i tried using PING (harddrive/utilities/network utility / ping) and typed in my POP server... it said 100% packet loss. i went to delifrance this afternoon and tried emailing there. it worked! i did PING again, it said 0% packet loss. then i went back home... not working again help.
When I set-up my Account Setting in Entourage, it was pretty quick and easy. I think you need to reset your settings. When i did mine, I didn't use PING. This might help you set up properly your entoruage http://www.microsoft.com/mac/help.mspx?app=2 Obviously, this is not a connection problem since you can surf with ease. Then it must be the way your entoruage was set-up. Try to explore this first (starting from the basic set-up). Do let me know how it goes.
