.DWG File

    hey guys how do i open a .dwg file (auto cad file i think) in my mac? is there an autocad for mac? i was hoping to view the blueprints given to me by my engineer.

    afaik, there's still no autocad for mac.

    you can download edrawings by solidworks, but you could only view the .dwg file.

    So there's no way that he can view the said file?..

    you could view .dwg files using edrawings by solid works (free lang to), but you could not edit it.

    I've been searchin' this software since june

    At passing na ng plates namin this tues.. ohh man... its impossible..

    You can also use Adobe Illustrator to view .DWG files. From what I can remember, you just have to pick the right options upon opening it to open it properly.

    arg failed! can't really open it! :( been trying to use illustrator and edrawings but i can't view it. i'm just seeing a black layout in drawings. and i can't view the layers.

    i can view my *.dwg file thru eDrawings but i can't edit it... when you open a file in eDrawings and can't see anything, try clicking the Home button... HTH...

    why not try installing windows on your mac thru bootcamp, parallels or vm ware? that's what i do... been meaning to ditch windows but as far as my profession is concerned i can't... still no AutoCAD for Macs... ;o(

    @bottomsup: have you tried Turbocad?

    Has anyone tried Turbocad? Is it as good as Autocad? TIA.

    @maxx: haven't tried it yet... i've been trying out Google Sketchup for 3D presentations and its good... sorry for the OT... ;o)

    @jps444: yes you can print out the *.dwg file from eDrawings...
