Download Accelerator

    Hi guys,

    I'm looking for a download accelerator. The download function of the browsers are not enough for me.

    I saw Speed Download in one of the threads here. What's the experience / recommendations on this or any other download accelerator?

    I'm perfectly happy with DownThemAll! for Firefox. Free, functional, and works on all platforms.

    you can try free download manager. it's free (no license to pay) and even downloads torrents.

    Speed Download 5 works well for me. My downloads if supported (some links are not) go as fast as my best torrents. Download Accelerator Plus also works well.

    yea, iGetter is the best DM for mac imo. It's like the IDM counterpart in Windows.

    Just a hint for those using rapidshare or any other Direct Download Site with a time limit. If you're using SBW Post or Prepaid, simply disconnect and then reconnect. SBW will assign you a new IP address and you're good to go.

    That's one of the reason I ditched my 30 months old SmartBro (canopy type with static IP) and got SBW. I guess this tip, taking advantage of dynamic IPs, applies to all HSDPA connection providers.

    I don't know what took me so long to switch!? :p

    @iTSmE: SmartBro Prepaid has a quirky IP assignment setup. I think the IP for each site is shared amongst users logged on. Thus, even if you are just logging on to download something from a DDL site, you may get a notice saying that you already (your IP) have a download in progress. Resetting or cycling your connection won't do any good if you're a PP-SmartBro user.

    Hi Spunk,

    I'm still on the trial version of this apps. Like to ask few questions.

    Can i use this for downloading torrents?
    How can I share files?


    BTW, I'm trying the Lite version
