I'm not using leopard yet, but my sis does. When I use her macbook, spaces confuses me... hehehe I think one needs to get used to it AND unlearn some habits to really use it.
I love it. I used the default 4 before, now I'm trying out 6 (hehe). I like keeping my organizer apps (iCal, finance app, Stickies, etc.) in one space, my word/pages docs in another, internet browsers and ym in another, itunes and VLC in another, and my 3d and graphics programs in another. Overkill, maybe that's why my brother (castoclown) gets confused when he uses my macbook....
I'm a Spaces lover. It totally helps a lot making my desktop arranged and organized. One of my favorite features too of Leopard.
I am not using it. Not yet. I don't know. I just don't feel like using it. Since i get by with the usual workflow I have back in Tiger days. Maybe one day, I will explore spaces. And see what it has to offer.
I work with lots of apps open and Spaces helps keep me organized in 4 spaces: internet apps; finance apps; word/excel files; parallels and all others.
yes im using it and loving it......... it provides for easy acces to open apps, its gets me organize, one space is for my office, the other f0r safari and mail, the other for cs3 and so on........and the best thing is you could easily move to other spaces. cheers, kiko
When I started using Spaces, it felt like I was more organized with my desktop and my work. But eventually, along the way, I ended up consolidating everything again in a single Space because I tend to shuttle back and forth a lot among the different spaces. Of course, I can make some applications to be open at several Spaces all at the same time, but that seems to defeat the purpose of separate Spaces. Still, I'm not giving up on Spaces. I might still see some use in that, one of these days, when I really need to separate and distribute applications among Spaces.
I think Spaces is very useful! I loved this feature from day one. I met Spaces before on Linux distributions, but it never was so nicely implemented like in Mac OS. Arranged like the following: 1/4 for Browsing through my files, Internet/FTP 2/4 for Instant Messengers 3/4 for Mail and iCal 4/4 for iTunes and productivity applications Organization wise spaces are a great way to keep everything easily accessible, but on the other hand it also tends to make you and your computer do much more multi-tasking than sometimes necessary. Nope. I had desktop organizer a couple of years back and i didnt like using it then. I would end up shuffling between spaces too often and sometimes even forget that i had stuff open in other spaces. It was more useful when i had a 12 inch pb. Now that i'm using a 15. I am happy with the screen area. Might start using it again if i buy an MBA!
yup i use spaces as well!! i love it. i keep my personal things on one space ie things that i dont want my boss to know what im doing. this would consitutute of my yahoo messenger and perezhilton.com site. hahahah the rest would be for work. its truly a gift for people who like to hide what they are doing.
i use spaces at work when i have to juggle between work and fun but at home, i use just one 'space' because i like all my apps accessible via my exposé corner.
