Thanks! I ordered via Lazada all the way from China. I hope it is legit. I really don't have any idea on BTB's stocks.
Apparently, there indeed are a lot of complaints about activation. I think i will hold off first on my plan. I tried creating a mimo account and i keep getting errors too.
I’ve been using if for more than a week now. No glitches so far. Have to admit though that its kinda annoying that you have to connect it to your smartphone to activate pro mode.
My DJI Spark drone activation wasn't seamless either. Most seamless "activation" of all my devices to date: AirPods. But drone activation, I can understand; there are, after all, aviation laws. I haven't figured out the rationale for camera-gimbal activation yet though, aside from the usual suspect—China playing big brother. Maybe China + Osmo = ChiOsmoso? Didn't have a problem activating my Osmo Pocket. But that's because i opted to activate it in-store, where the seller knew what to do. My WTF moment came though when the Mimo app log-in page was in Chinese. And after activation, the Pocket booted to a Chinese menu. Thankfully, I hadn't recorded anything yet, so I blindly trial-and-errored the menu until I found the language settings. No regrets using the device since though, even if potentially, there's a privacy chink in the armor.
Had no problem activating mine. Osmo Pocket is very portable, you can shoot very close to your subject like the waves, water and plants with good video quality at its highest resolution at least when I watch it on my iPad. But you can only control the movement of the camera fully in all its axis when it is attached to a phone unless you get the additional controller wheel. And there is no option to slow it down, yet. I hope they will include these in the next software update. Most of the segments of this video were shot without a phone attached.
So far it’s a good companion for someone who records discreetly, good for getting those smooth zooming shots for interiors and lite active activities
Any suggestions on where this can be bought locally? Digital Walker is currently out of stocks for this.
Heads up folks. Firmware update. We now have story mode. Sadly the 1080p rez issue has not been addressed. We still can’t save 4K videos.
i just got a dji osmo pocket from henry's. after less than 5 minutes of use, it becomes noticeably warm. is that normal? i'm shooting at 1080p, 30 fps, and fine quality.
I still wanna know just how good this DJI Pocket is compared to the GoPro Hero7. For starters, 4K/1080p on 60fps. GP7 runs native on this. Does DJI do the same? How’s the quality, and mostly, how’s the size? Because damn if I’m sure, any 4K/1080p output in the GP7 creates a very large file it actually sucks when downloading it to a hard drive. Quality is superb though. But the size...sucks.
