Mine is located inside, by the third row window. No problems with the signal.

Try the RCA ones in Ace Hardware. I think they're around 1,500 to 2,000.

Got one years ago. Still works now. You can get GMA, ABS-CBN and other channels.

Their videos on YouTube are up to 720p only. So yeah it’s not up to 2020 standards even on YouTube.

    Well, 720p is technically HD.

    1080p is FHD.

While not ideal, 720p is plenty fine for more than 90% of their materials. I'm pretty sure their equipment is modern enough to do 1080p or even higher but maybe decided on a lower res because they're still broadcasting at a lower resolution due to bandwidth constraints*. I would like to think that transcoding is not something you want done as part of your workflow in a realtime live broadcast situation.

*A single ISDB-T channel can handle either:
    - 1 FHD program,
    - 1 HD and 1 SD program, or
    - 3 SD programs

^my personal take on the quality of local channels...

Most of these "digital boxes" are connected via RCA, so it doesn't make sense for the local channels to push for FHD (and above content)

What I cannot understand is the lack of FHD and 4K content. (For Netflix, YouTube and iWant/TFC.TV)

We temporarily cancelled our TFC.TV subscription as we only use it for TV Patrol... the free YouTube video is way better than S$10/month we get from TFC.

    Just sharing...

I saw a thread from a local forum asking why SG's local (free) news is still on HD... whereas Taiwan is planning to go 4K

Just noticed that there are now digital boxes from ABS-CBN, GMA and Cignal (plus the other "unbranded ones)

Are there any specific difference between the boxes?

If I remember correctly ABS-CBN stopped selling their TV box, and also because they lost their franchise most of their exclusive channels have gone dark. Like in our house in Pampanga, signals of other channels are weak so the TV+ has no use these days.

hmmm, so ABS-CBN (box) should have their exclusive channels.

I'm actually thinking of buying what ever box uses HDMI...

As recently as year 2016 TV models bough through authorized distributors would have built-in digital TV tuners negating the need digital TV boxes.

All you'd need is a TV antenna that costs as little as 500.

CIGNAL? it's a DTH subscription not DTT. as far as ABS and GMA boxes only ABS has access to their exclusive channels. GMA on the other can only record their own channel. LOL. wise for both.
