Hi Guys, Since news about Diablo 3 coming out soon, I figured it'd be great to play Diablo 2 & LOD again, but the problem that I just switched to Macs came up. So I'm just waiting for Datablitz or someplace to get a copy of the Hybrid disc so I could install it, but after doing research online, I found out that there are a lot of problems with OSX and Diablo 2. Just wondering if anyone here knew how to properly install and run both Diablo 2 & Lord of Destruction on a Macbook Pro, OSX (Version 10.5.6) Also, if anyone knew where I could get my hands on an original Diablo Battlechest that's a hybrid CD. Hope to hear from anyone soon. Thanks! -Nik
I bought my Diablo II Battlechest at Datablitz Alabang Town Center ~2-3 years ago. It runs on both PC and Mac (I guess that's what you mean by "hybrid"). I finished the game twice (using different characters, obviously) and did not experience any problems.
If you got an original licensed Diablo 2 and LOD, and still have the product keys for it, you can register it online at Blizzard and you should be able to download the games for your specific OS, MAC OS included. This applies even if you got a Windows only CDROM. Worked out fine for my Diablo 2 and LOD discs. BTW, I think this should go to the Mac Arcade forum.
@nikk929: If you happen to find Battlechest these days, please update this thread. I'm also looking for one. Not only it's a collector's item, but also in preparation of Diablo III.
I found a couple in MOA, I just forgot the name of the store.. It's where PSP, PS2, Wii, UMD, and PS2 DVDs are sold. They are PC version, I think I'm buying VMware, Diablo would be enough reason I guess, I'm really a big fan of Diablo II.. Can't wait for Diablo III,
