I just bought a copy of Diablo 2 (wih expansion) and tried to install it on my Mac and I encountered this problem. I basically have a windows-only playdisk and I need to send the disk to Blizzard for replacement. :upset:

I'm not familiar with sending parcels out. What do I need to do? Can someone help me with this? Can someone send/receive the disks on my behalf? Anyone?

I have another option - If anyone has a proper hybrid diablo 2 play-disk and is willing to swap/sell the disk, I'll be willing to make the exchange/transaction... :qmark:

lamski all the releases of diablo are hybrid, unless you are using a pirated version *wink wink* also, are you using the installer on the cdrom instead of the os x downloadable?

    Hello HAL9000,

Of course I'm using original software. I just bought it from datablitz at greenbelt 1 last friday.
If you go to this link http://www.macaddict.com/forums/topic/60178 and go to post #19, you'll see that I'm not the only one with this problem.

I've tried using both the OS X Native installer from the disk as well as the one from Blizzard's patch page. The strange thing is, only the Play Disk is windows-only. The rest of the disks are hybrids. :sigh: I've contacted Datablitz regarding the problem and I hope they get back to me with good news... I was really looking forward to spending the weekend levelling up. :(

Just an update on my situation:
Datablitz has agreed to assist me in getting a replacement disk from Blizzard. They were very prompt in responding and quite reasonable. The downside is that I have to wait for it... :sigh: But it's better that nothing right?

I have to wait for about a month... bought the diablo 2 battle chest (diablo 1 & 2 and LoD expansion) for 1,550 PHP.

better get the battlechest... the lod standalone is over php750

@dive i think you need to reinstall diablo completely using the downloadable os x installer... looks like you have some corrupted files.

BTW: diablo 2 is so much faster in os 9 native (not classic!) than os x...

I managed to buy a Star Craft Battle Chest for PC and Mac this afternoon. My old SC Battle Chest which I bought back in 1999 was Windows only.

is your mac os 9 bootable? if it is... just put in the cdrom and run the included installer, you can either get the update through the built-in battle.net net access or download the patch (1.10b) from blizzard.com. pretty straightforward.

    Just an update:

Datablitz has found a replacement play disk. I'll probably drop by the store to later this day/week to get it. It took a while but it all worked out.
