    I just found this cool app that lets users change their desktop to - well, almost anything.. :D DesktopMagik allows users to change their desktop from the usual image, to a movie (yeah, video with or without audio!), or even an auto-updating webpage.

    looks like it would eat up a lot of system resource when movies are used.

    Ei. It doesn't seem free today. It's still Sunday in the US.

    Regarding resources, an HD video playing in the background uses about 60-70% of both cores, 122MB of real memory and 520MB of virtual memory.

    Let your system stretch its legs from time to time eh?

    If you download it from the Macappaday website its free. However they are only giving away 5000 copies. They might have given about 5000 already.

    It's gone from macappaday...oh well. I'm using the trial version now, pretty cool. I think one needs high-res videos though, a small video file that I played is pixelated since it takes up the whole screen.

    On second thought, you have an option to center the video. :)

    wait lang. I can do that with quicktime pro already. i play the movie on full screen mode, and i can still work on my other apps while the movie plays in the background.

    oh yeah.. the effect works with Quicktime too.. wala nga lang mga desktop icons, but it's still cool.. :D

    You mean using movies? Not yet. I don't have any movie file here. Will let you guys know when I've tried it with a movie.
