I have a PDF file that i need to email out. i need to decrease its 25.5 MB to something that will send thru gmail. needless to say it still needs to be readable. any tips?
Here's what I would do. Print > PDF > Compress PDF. See if that does the trick for you. But make sure to check the quality of the resultant PDF after.
Do you have Adobe Acrobat? It has a function that reduces PDF file size. Just in case the compressed file is still too large for gmail, an alternate way to move the PDF is to host it in a Box.net account and have the recipient retrieve it via DAV. Hope this helps.
Try to decrease your image size to its actual size in photoshop. If you try to decrease the file size in its distiller, you might over decrease the image instead, whereas in photoshop, you'll have control on the actual size and resolution of your image files.
cant post to a box.net since the recipient isnt going to go thru the trouble of opening yet another box. cant break it up and expect her to figure out putting it together. compress PDF and zipping it just knocked a few hundred KB it basically for her to read the document. thanks to all who responded. this may be my best bet: @suavecito, does this mean i have to rasterize each page? what is best way to decrease file size? cut resolution or to shrink the actual page size while maintaining the resolution. reading the text is the most important.
