Malas ako saturday night, my 1gb Sandisk Extreme CF with Game 2 worth of UAAP pictures crashed. I was able to mount it on the computer with a Sandisk firewire card reader, then while browsing it just disappeared! Then it wouldn't mount anymore, even on my Canon 20D camera.

While I was in the games, I remembered trying to back it up on my Compactdrive PD70x but it wouldn't complete the transfer because of errors in the media card. Well, just incase I was hoping I could find even some pictures still in it, better than nothing...Naku worse, 2 folders were missing so even Game 1 was erased!
Maybe during the transfers from the problematic CF which never completed, the previous folders got corrupted.

Instead of crying and throwing all these memory devices out of the window, I tried to research on Data Recovery programs.

Data Rescue X was the first one I tried. It took me around 7 hours to scan and "revive" lost files in my 80Gb Compactdrive via USB2. Surprisingly though, it was able to see gigabytes worth of data. Old videos and mp3 that I already deleted before were also visible. Most important of all, my lost Game 1 pictures were intact! So I was able to recover them, whew! But Data Rescue couldn't see the problematic CF card with the Game 2 pictures.

So I tried out Picture Rescue. Now it could see the CF card even if it wouldn't mount. After scanning it for around 15 minutes, the program showed me the "recoverable" pictures. Yes, the pictures that I needed were there! Scary, other pictures emerged as well, those from camera-formatted-erased shoots even some from the Collegiate Champions League 7 months ago!

I was saved by these programs. So if you have a hard drive or CF crashing on you, don't lose hope.

I hate to say this but you may try using scandisk (yata) kahit sa Win98. It happened to me once but my officemate was able to recovered most of the files using scandisk of Win98.:smooch:

Thanks for reminding me Maverick! Just checked my Sandisk has the older version 1 software bundled with it, new version 2 is only available as a demo. Anyway, I tried installing it on my office PC, it also performed well in recovery although I only found 80% of the pictures. Some shots were'nt recovered. Maybe version 2.0 is better, but since I got Picture Rescue already which worked for me, no need for me to it out.

Kenshinx, I am not sure if win98 scandisk will perform just like Data Rescue X. I don't have comparison info on it. But since I need one for the my Mac running Tiger, and I don't have any Win98 PCs around anymore, Data Rescue seems a good choice. Bottom line, these worked for my system. Others can benefit from this experience.

IMHO, it would be prudent to copy the photos from the camera (direct- although the camera uses some battery power) via USB connection rather than yank the CF card and use an external card reader. Less chance of having problems.

And don't use the auto erase after transfer button, always be sure to check if the photos were indeed transfered.

Learn that mistake the hard way. Lost pics on that supposedly useful feature.

There are 2 solutions for you to recover deleted photos from iPhone :
    1. Directly scan and recover pictures from your iPhone.
    2. If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes, you also can regain your deleted photos by extracting your iTunes backup file.

If you want to directly recover deleted photos from iPhone:
Step 1:Run the program and connect your iPhone
    Step 2:Download a plug-in separately for your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS
Step 3:Enter the device's scanning mode and scan it
Step 4:preview and recover deleted iPhone photos
With the help of iPhone Photo Recovery, you can surely recover your deleted iPhone photos.
