^Not yet reflected in the DOH website. So keep your insider info coming.

And I'm sure the local medical community is close-knit, so useless sa Pinas mag-TNT! :D

maybe a press release, just imagine the potential losses they will incur if they confirm they are treating a patient infected with nCov.

to doctors and other health professionals, instead of saying "don't panic" , just issue statement that we are not capable of handling this virus(even first world) but we are DOING OUR BEST to address this problem, so be vigilant and take extra precautions.

Quick question to anyone who knows the answer. If you're a PUI for covid19, who will pay for your test? If the PUI will be the one to shoulder the bill, how much is it?

In SK, Taiwan, and SG, government will pay for the test.

Poor Mayor Zamora. Back in the spotlight again after that harrowing hostage crisis.

If the patient was a vendor, good luck with the contact tracing.

A colleague has been recently confirmed with COVID-19 infection with possible link to a cluster identified previously.

    Timeline:
07 Feb - Singapore elevates DORSCON level to Orange
10 Feb - Company triggers business continuity program with team segregation measures
15 Feb - Patient attends dinner function without fever and flu-like symptoms
26 Feb - Patient was last seen in office before taking medical leave
28 Feb - Patient reports onset of symptoms at a medical clinic
03 Mar - Patient admitted to hospital
04 Mar - COVIT-19 test result shows positive infection
05 Mar - Company deep-sanitizes the building level affected and advised all workers in the same level to work from home for mandatory 14 days while contact tracing was intensified.

Although I was set to work from home for 3 weeks and was reinstated to work back in the office Wednesday last week, I'm a bit elated that my desk is stationed at a lower building, meters away from where the tall structure where the patient was seated. The situation is normal unless the company declares an internal DORSCON Red to tie all workers strictly at home.

On a separate observation, this is the first time that tourist attractions are plagued mostly by ang mohs (caucasians). Restaurants, hotels and retail stores are hurting very obviously. I hope this ends soon.

Mm...good for your company. At least, they are being proactive and hindi pabaya.

DOH secretary: I refuse to confirm the name of the san juan hospital.

Cardinal Santos hospital: yup, we treated the patient and he has since been transferred to the RITM.

    wtf?! What a comedy show!

DOH: the patient visited a prayer hall but we refuse to identify the location.

San Juan mayor: sa greenhills shopping center po yung prayer hall.

    wtf! What a comedy show!

    Mm...

Singapore has a 4 step alert system called Dorscon: it is now Orange alert just one step away from Red Alert.

The South Korean President has declared a war against Covid 19 and ordered all government agencies to activate their 24 hour emergency room systems and designated the infected areas as special management area.

The governors of the States of California, Maryland, Washington and Florida have declared a state of emergency.

    Here in the Philippines? Zzzzzzzzzzzz.......

What is wrong with this picture?

    Ito ang kopyahin nyo, DOH:

    8D22BAE2-B12A-479C-B90F-54B0ADC359C2.jpeg

    Dumb, dumb, dumb press release:

Duque said the fifth case is known to have regularly visited a Muslim prayer hall in Barangay Greenhills, San Juan City, Manila, thus the DOH called on previous visitors of the prayer hall who are presenting fever and respiratory symptoms to call the DOH hotline (02) 8-651-7800 local 1149 to 1150 for proper referral to appropriate health facility.

What is wrong with these people? So, if there are 10 Prayer Halls in Brgy Greenhills, San Juan City, this advisory from DOH should apply to all 10 Prayer Halls??? Dapat ba hulaan ng mga tao kung alin lugar tinutukoy nyo? Meron po nasusunog na bahay. Saan po? GUESS!

Just came back from dinner at Greenhills and saw the Muslim prayer hall shuttered already. There’s a couple of security guards nearby telling would-be visitors that the hall has been closed. No need to inform them that a congregant with COVID had been frequenting the place. No need to enflame any biases amid paranoia. Better to clear things up as simple as that. Tulad ng marami diyan, miyembro ng Bahala Na Gang.

Mm...it was Mayor Zamora who rushed to that place and told management to disinfect the entire place. I had expected DOH personnel in hazmat suits to be crawling all over. What I saw is a picture of a utility worker with a face mask with some basahan (probably with alcohol). OMG!

Are we really prepared? Or bahala na si batman?

I admire Delolitte for being transparent. Can't say the same for some government agencies, though. So much for social distancing as a deterrent to the virus' spread if one does not know what or where to distance oneself from.

Hiding under the "Data Privacy Act" against the greater good of the populace is so self-serving.

BTW, should the whole building now be "deep cleaned"?

“Why is the coronavirus sparing our children?”

Doctors and pediatric infectious disease experts cannot explain why. Not even the WHO. It is both a blessing and a relief to all of us, that even in China during the outbreak, only a tiny sliver of those infected were children (2.5% based on WHO reports) and only 0.2% were diagnosed as critically ill. Worldwide there have been no reported deaths yet among young children specifically because of the coronavirus. The coronavirus mercy on our children is unprecedented, knowing that the young are always most susceptible and vulnerable to infectious diseases and the morbidity among them is so high. And yet, they seem to be the most unaffected. One theory is that older people, most of whom are the victims of the virus itself, have lower immune systems or such systems have become less of the antibodies that fight certain illnesses. Babies and young children have developing immune systems that are bombarded regularly by various viruses including those that cause the common cold and fight it off because they are constantly developing and emerging antibodies. These doesn’t mean however that the young are immune totally from the coronavirus; it’s just that they don’t have the very same symptoms as those who contracted it, or have none at all. It doesn’t mean they’re healthy or able to withstand infections. At this point and until further tests can be determined, our young remain as susceptible to the coronavirus as anyone and we should not bank on the notion that they may not be infected.
