Mm...blazingly fast download but why is the upload speed very slow? Is that Converge fiber? What plan is that? Wow.
its a bug on their system. after a few hours it reverts back to my subscribed plan then i turn off the modem and i get that speed again. hahaha.
They do offer a residential 300mbit plan for 4500/month and even 500mbit for 7000/month. Mm...re: 300 mbps is wasted capacity. Not worth it for 99.99% of residential users....unless you are simultaneously streaming US 4K content via VPN.....on 15 TVs.
Agreed. I think the sweet spot for most households is either the 50 or 100mbit plan. You can already do two or three concurrent 4K streaming with those speeds.
Mm...even for very heavy downloading (like a 120 GB PC game via Steam), the high-speed is not all-important. If Steam server is loaded, the 300 mbps will be useless. Won’t matter. From experience. Yup....50 to 100 is more than good enough.
Just had an annoying experience with Converge with regards to installation in our 2nd home in Pampanga. I wasn’t informed by the sales agent that routing of the fiber cable from outside all the way to where the modem will be placed was my job, or my electrician’s job. I traveled in the morning, and wasted half a day waiting for them only to find out that they will just be dropping their fiber cables and would come back when cabling was done. In our home in Manila, I never had an issue with regards to installation from PLDT & Globe when they hooked us up with fiber internet. Is this bad omen from Converge that even in installation they’re already getting my blood boiling?
Hmmm, in my case, they installed the cables inside the house till where I wanted the modem placed. Not sure if they changed their policy , or maybe the sub contractor was just making an excuse so that you would pay extra?
