Plan 1,500.00 20mbps... what is latency? the ping? 20ms
If Converge is a PLDT customer, shouldn't they be having the same problems that we have with PLDT's Fibr?
Ping of 20ms is great! and plan 1500 for 20mbps is a great deal IMHO
I believe that converge and other fiber providers do use/lease PLDT's cables going to singapore (& US ??) but still maintain their own servers.
Actually, I think it's how PLDT fiber throttles certain sites and torrents on purpose in their servers as to declog traffic. While for converge, hopefully they wont practice that same throttling in their own servers.
no throttling since i've subscribed to their service, its been 5 months already.
Note that PLDT is a huge companies with different markets... their Fibr consumer products is different from their corporate fiber customers, and hence handled by different group of people.
Thanks for the comments, @oldtimer & @JJB. I just hope PLDT doesn't begin to throttle Converge if PLDT notices that they're losing customers to Converge.
PLDT is threatened in areas where Converge owns the fiber...
Where can we find info on what areas Converge owns the fiber lines?
Not sure if it is on their website but they have pretty good coverage of MM and Laguna area.
We will transfer to Converge na coming from Sky 50Mbps. I will comment on my connection once they installed the modem. November 19 scheduled installation as per my request. I subscribed to 100Mbps download and upload
I've been planning to switch from PLDT to Converge since a year ago but it never happened since my area's not covered with their service yet. But just last Friday, I saw some guys from Converge installing something on our street's utility pole! I can't wait to switch ips'

Thanks to this thread, I've learned about this service. Upon googling though, I saw bad reviews saying the service isn't stable? How is it? For 1500 a month, it looks promising.
Have any subscriber here change the setting of the Fibr Modem to Bridge mode? I am on home user plan 2500. CS won't allow it coz I need a Public IP(upgrade to business plan) before they can change setting.
This is one reason why I'm hesitant to transfer to converge. Our CCTV system is connected to our Pldt static IP address. Not sure though if this is a public or private one. Rover CCTV company asked Pldt to make our ip static (worth 500php)
I'm planning to get either 20mbps or 50mbps from Converge. Any chance that someone here lives in Scout/Tomas Morato area and has their service installed? I'm not sure if they're available in Scout area.. Hopefully they are.
