You won’t be sitting for long, trust me. When the Edge does his riffs to Elevation and Bono starts preening on that note, expect bedlam. Ho-ho wish I were you
Feels like we're gonna see most of an entire generation of Pinoys in SG on Nov. 30! I could probably hold a GS/HS/college homecoming!
Me and my friends are going to the U2 Joshua Tree Tour in Japan! Hahahahaha... We usually travel to Japan for our short winter vacation, so it was a no brainer which U2 concert we should go to after they formally announced dates for the concert tour. It'll be a bit early for our usual winter trip, but who cares... we're going this time because of U2! Btw, I too had to subscribe to their website to avail of the presale tickets... which I didn't mind at all since the subscription comes with freebies that includes a rare U2 vinyl record. Like most of you guys, to watch U2 (my all time favorite band) perform live is also on my bucket list.
I'm just happy that I get to watch my my favorite rock band live before they get too old to perform. They're probably pushing 60s by now.
^ I'm already stoked and hyped up! Currently listening to Achtung Baby on Spotify. I hope they play Ultra Violet and City of Blinding Lights
It's the Joshua Tree Tour, meaning they'll be focusing on their songs from that album and I hope from other albums from the 80s. Which is right about when I became a U2 fan (I was in the sixth grade.)
Songs I want them to perform: Sunday Bloody Sunday, I Will Follow, New Year's Day, Pride, All I Want is you, Angel of Harlem, Bad, City of Blinding Lights, Beautiful Day, Stuck in a Moment, New Year's Day, The Unforgettable Fire, Where the Streets have no Name, With or Without You, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Desire, Even Better than the Real Thing, One, Shamoo The Mysterious Whale, Discotheque, Staring at the Sun, Elevation, Walk On, Vertigo, I'll Go Crazy if I Don't go Crazy Tonight.
That is already a given and I'm really, really okay with that. Can't wait to hear Bullet the Blue Sky live! Fact is, my first U2 album on cassette was The Joshua Tree. That time, the cassette was all transparent, with the songs printed on it, and not on a paper label "Made in USA" baby I can definitely sing along with that album as I know every word
I decided to get 2 tickets at CAT 2, though I still have no one go with me to SG! Hope they will include All I Want is You, The Electric Co., Every Breaking Wave, or The Little Things That Give You Away in their set list.
Truth is, I found The Joshua Tree songs a little bland at the start since the first U2 albums I owned were War and Under a Blood Red Sky whose songs were so much more intense. It was a little later on that I grew to appreciate them.
Joshua Tree is first the album that gave U2 mainstream success. I also prefer War over Joshua Tree. But in general I like all their albums except maybe the last two.
Average setlist for tour: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017. Sunday Bloody Sunday New Year's Day Pride (In the Name of Love) Bad Where the Streets Have No Name I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For With or Without You Bullet the Blue Sky Running to Stand Still Red Hill Mining Town In God's Country Trip Through Your Wires One Tree Hill Exit Mothers of the Disappeared Encore: Miss Sarajevo (Passengers cover) Beautiful Day Elevation Vertigo You're the Best Thing About Me Ultraviolet (Light My Way) One Source
judging by their asian tour schedule, there was clearly room for a second night. if they held off on the second night to compel people to pay $50 for pre-sale rights, then well played, u2 management. bono's poverty eradication spirit approves.
Singapore's hipons are fresh, whereas Seoul's are frozen. People go to Seoul for plastic surgery. U2?
