hello. i was wondering how people compress their wav files. i coverted a 300kb mp3 to a wav so i can have it as my ringtone on my nokia 3650. but it became 2.2 mb. how am i to compress this file without damaging the sound quality. what software fo i need for this. i heard there is but it is windows based. is there a mac version?
Hi Joanna, Have you adjusted the settings in iTunes? Under Preferences > Importing Then Import Using: WAV Encoder Setting: Custom Then change the Sampling rate to either 8,11, or 22kHz ( 8 being the lowest/smallest filesize you can get. You'll have to experiment to know which is the ok quality/smallest filesize.) Sampling size: 16bit Channels: Mono Also you can also use Quicktime Pro, and export it with the same settings. Either app will do. [Edited on 10-10-2004 by Kenneth]
