panther has classic support (meaning it's set up to accept and work with OS 9), but it doesn't have OS 9 built in, you'll have to get that separately. if you own another mac running OS 9, you can network the two and drag over the OS 9 system folder (and the applications--just make sure they go into Applications (Mac OS 9)--create the folder if there's none--and not just Applications, or they'll overwrite everything you have!).
