    Do you remember this?

Hard to believe that over 15 years have passed since I last played my (still) favorite game of Rescue Raiders. At the time, PC DOS, Commodore Amiga, and this were the pinnacles of computer gaming. Those were the days indeed. Seeing the familiar monochrome green screen of the days when I was still a kid gives me a feeling of nostalgia. It was here that I managed to write my very first program (Basic).

And so I am very happy to find that there is a virtual treasure trove of freely downloadble games for the Apple ][ and Apple ][ gs as well as emulators.

My emulator of choice is OSXII. Once you decompress it, you need to put the Apple.ROM and Disk.ROM in the Roms folder and you're good to go.

You can stroll through memory lane here:

    http://www.apple2.org.za/mirrors/ftp.apple.asimov.net/images/games/

    Some of my favorites are
RPG: Autoduel, Captain Goodnight, Return of Heracles, Swiss Family Robinson, Secret Agent: Mission One, Roadwar 2000, Roadwar Europa

Action: Spare Change, Stellar 7, Tron, Hard Hat Mack, Karateka, Dig dug, Conan, Droll

Strategy: Archon 1 & 2, Rescue Raiders, Taipan, Ghostbusters, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

I'm trying to remember the title of this other game I really liked. It involved playing as a bartender and trying to serve beer to dozens of patrons at a bar. If you broke a glass, you lose. I kinda remember it having the word "time" in its name, by any chance maybe any of you guys have played it?

Karateka!!! That was one of my favorite games too! I also had fun with a binary editor changing the names and script that comes out all over the game... hehehe...

I loved playing Archon 1 & 2 as well... I remember playing Taipan, that was one of the very first games that I ever played on a computer.

    It was "Bar Time". Hehehe.

I remember, after days of playing Karateka, I finally beat the big boss Akuma. Then getting shocked when the princess that I was supposed to save killed me! You need to run to her pala

Lol, yep, that happened to me, too! Karateka's one of my favorites. Another one is this game wherein you're a ninja and your weapons are either knives and/or shurikens which you threw at your opponents, and you cross through rivers, etc. by somersaulting or something. If only I can remember its title. Played it on the Commodore 64. It had good Japanese style background music, too. Hmm, what was that game? The way you moved on the screen was at an angle, which gave it that 3D look (due to its perspective).

haha Karateka! That game sure was funny. I remember the first time I played it, I couldn't get him into fighting position and I just kept bowing and bowing as the enemy approached and finally killed me in one blow! I was like, what the h---???

I used to love Carmen Sandiego. Played it on PC though :p Aaaah, back when games could fit into a 5" floppy disk.

At first I thought Legend of Kage, but that's not at an angle, and I don't think they had it on Commodore 64 :p

Why did that princess keep venturing out into the forest at night? It's like she ENJOYED being kidnapped by ninjas! hahaha. I loved that game :D

I also love the huge shuriken and the "pray" thing where all the ninja just drop dead like flies

Did anyone ever have a PC engine? Its graphics were way better than the NES/Family Computer, plus you can keep the games in your wallet because they were like chip cards instead of catridges.

Anybody ever finish Agent USA? I got as far as finding the fuzzbomb but I don't know what to do next.

    Hey, guys good thread here!
Can you please help me. What was that game i used to play originally on an apple lle, where a man in a one dimension maze would be required to collect all the boxes, and avoid being caught by his pursures. He can run fast left and right , dig holes and jump below the structures, but need ladders to go up. Level changes as he accomplishes this, and gets difficult as he moves further on.

Love this game! Just can't remember the name!!!! darn!!!!
