hey guys! i've been a mac user for quite awhile now, but i still use a PC in the office. So although I'm much happier with the performance of my iBook, i have been using CHIKKA (for those of you who don't know, Chikka provides SMS services thru a PC for FREE!)... is there a mac version of this amazing software?
nope there isnt a mac version for chikka. you can use Yahoo! Messenger to forward IM to your phone by SMS. Replying costs P2.50/sent msg.
There is a flash version of Chikka which you can use one a Mac. Go to Chikka's website and log in and you're done.
I think the proper term would be Javalite version for chikka. Check here http://indiatimes.chikka.com/
actually, you can use ichat for chikka. two ways: via gtalk or native (your existing) chikka account. the latter was available briefly (i tried it; it worked), but word has it that it will become widely available around first quarter 2009. in the meantime, if you have a gtalk account, configure ichat for gtalk. once you're logged onto gtalk using ichat, add a buddy, then specify [email protected] as your buddy's gtalk address. when you "chat" with that buddy, your message will be sent to your buddy's mobile phone, ala chikka. this is completely legit, because chikka is officially federated with google's gtalk network. hope this helps. lookin' forward to native ichat support in 2009!
gtalk is Google's IM type service (Webpage here). It's still in beta stage, but the best thing about it is you can use your gtalk account on iChat to send text messages via chikka. Ingenious eh?
