A happy, healthy and blessed New Year to all Muggers!

I just got back from Singapore and had as always a good food trip!

I really love Hainanese chicken rice, the roast version that is. The rice is so flavor full, the chicken extremely moist and tender.

    I just love this dish!

    How about you guys?

That sucks. When I eat HCR, I always think about Singapore. And I love Singapore. There's GOT to be one here which does it justice.

When I visited in Singapore the owner of the hostel I was staying at prided himself in knowing Singapore's culinary secrets. He would order Hainanese chicken from this small unassuming restaurant, which unfortunately I couldn't point you to if my life depended on it, but heavens it was the best! I normally prefer the roast variety, but I swear you would eat their steamed chicken skin and all, it was that good!

All I know is that it was near Joo Chiat Road. I love that area! Beautiful and charming architecture as well as good eats.

Also love hainanese chicken rice... I think one of the best places to have this in Singapore is at the Chin Chin restaurant, thought I can't recall the exact location.

When I'm in Singapore, I always buy some of those ready to cook packs from prima taste (to bring home). It does not taste as good as the real ones but comes close enough... ;)

I like the chicken rice at Banana Leaf. You can order Hainanese Chicken (half?) and order some bowls of Hainanese Rice. You can also order just for yourself :)

Haha, me too, just came from Singapore earlier this week, and I loved their Hainanese Chicken Rice, complete with the spicy and the peanut sauces (and the clear sauce which I'm not sure of, garlic?).

Taste of Singapore (they have a few branches in Sentosa island) offers the HCR cheap, around S$9.50. Ulu Ulu Grill at the Night Safari complex has a good HCR, too, but it's a tad bit more expensive, at S$17.

Has anyone found one here in the Philippines? :)
