    Heading to Cebu this weekend.

Any recos for a beach resort on Mactan Island? Just a day-trip, even half-day.

Shang Mactan would be out of the question, budget-wise.:p

Maribago Blue Water, Mike. You'll see this before you reach Shang. Better food, too.

Much cheaper and alot better .

Actually Maribago and Shang rila are on 2 different roads but all taxi would know the difference in location.

Maribago is P1,750 nett with buffet lunch on weekends.

Maribago is nice beach but if you are bringing the kids you might try Imperial for the water park.

Or White Sands they are the few natural beach resort in Mactan its P750 nett with buffet lunch

^Thanks, @dasaint! We already tried White Sands last time we were in Cebu, back in 2007. An uncle footed the bill so it was good. The place was packed since it was a Sunday but the kids still found space to go snorkeling.

Anyway, we "discovered" a relative who owns a spot of beach along Marigondon. We'll just head there instead. Can't say No to a free offer!

    Thanks, all!

My girlfriend and I are going on a vacation at the end of the month at Sumilon. We're thinking of getting a private land transfer from the airport to Sumilon instead of taking the public bus. The resort gave us a P3,500 rate for one way only which we thought was too expensive, more expensive than our roundtrip plane ticket.

Does anybody know any fair and reputable private transfer services from airport to Sumilon/Oslob area which they can recommend? Thanks. :)

Forgot to update this thread about how our Cebu trip turned out. That was in early June!

We ended up staying at a nondescript pension house along Quezon Nat'l Highway, right across the Gaisano Mall. The place was nothing to write home about, hehe.. It was adequate for sleeping in.

Instead of going to a beach resort, we just rented a pumpboat and went "island hoppnig" but not quite. Before we even hit an island, we let the boat stop in the middle of the laot and just jumped over to swim and snorkel. A 3-4 hour boat ride cost us about P2,000 for the boat, with four boat-men! My cousin brought along some food and drinks so that covered our refreshments.

Thats pretty much the going rate for a car rental with driver its further than Tagaytay remember so you have to pay round trip. For 7 hours round trip best rate is about 5,700.

Personally take a taxi to South Bus terminal , get an aircon bus with wi-fi will cost you only P500 for 2 with change .

Thanks for the response. We assume that the public bus would stop to drop-off and pick-up passengers along the way in that 3-hour span. We wanted a quick route to Oslob so we can make the most of our stay in Bluewater Sumilon. We're only staying there for one night and then spend the rest of our days back in Cebu city.

Guys, just like to share fun trip here at Cebu. I'm sorry if this has been suggested on the previous pages but Whale shark watching is super fun.. Visited there last week through a package deal found on Cebu Classifieds and I really enjoyed seeing those gentle little giants. Awesome adventure, would love to visit Cebu again. :)

So we booked a last minute trip to Coron, only to find out the return trip (August 21), had no more straight flights left, hahahaha! So we had no choice but to book a one stop trip, and to make the most of it, we're flying to Cebu, and will stay there for 3 and a half hours. So if there is one place that you're going to eat at in Cebu, that is a fairly decent travel distance from the airport, which one would you recommend? Last time I was there was in 2009 when I proposed to my wife in Mactan, and I remember going to STK. We'll be bringing two toddlers with us though.

3.5 hours isn't really that long. There's already a complex right outside the airport though with a Rico's Lechon, Hukad, and a couple more restaurants. A few meters down the road is another complex with Zubuchon and Harbor City dimsum. Along the main highway is Scape Skydeck, a rooftop restaurant at the top floor of the Azon Residences condo with a nice view of the bridge and cebu city (nicer in the late afternoon to evening).

All those places are just outside the airport.
