Casa VERDE for the ribs!:) Its in the ayala center!

Also try Kul's cafe for their creamed ribs. I loved it there. the food was awesome and CHEAP! Ribs for P200, even lower.

Try visiting Basilica del Sto. Niño and Magellan's Cross...a light stroll could get you to Plaza Independencia/ Fort San Pedro.
Night Life's at Mango Ave. or at a IT Park (near Waterfront Hotel-Lahug) Basically, all within range from Ayala Center Cebu.
    Food- Golden Cowrie or Chikaan.
There are a lot of great foods served by hole in the wall type restos, one way to spot them; there'll be a lot of private cars and taxi parked (and on waiting) during lunch and dinner time.

+1 on the Casa Verde Ribs.

They say its cheaper in their original branch somewhere near cebu institute of medicine.

Also try the warm brownie cup from La Marea at the IT park and desserts from Cafe Georg.

these are my favorites (mostly hole in the walls). look for the following:

ocean garden (lahug area) - grilled lobster, pork liempo, seafood soup, mango shake

stk ta bay (capitol area) - baked scallops (i suggest you get 1 serving per person), grilled panga ng tuna, thai soup, seafood kare-kare, melt in your mouth crispy pata
    kan-anan

kan-anan ni kuya j (capitol area) - steamed crab, crab rice, baked scallops

la marea (it park, crossroads) - warm brownie cup

golden cowrie (salinas) - crispy pata

saffron (at crimson resort) - teppanyaki buffet

    cowrie cove (shangri-la mactan)

for some local color, have a guide direct you to the grilled native chicken al fresco eatery (carinderia. ü) somewhere in the mandaue area, near sm yata. you order typically 1 whole chicken per person since the chickens are small.

at the other end of the culinary spectrum, there's the corner table in the mabolo area. quaint place, superb food and, something i'm appreciating lately, with a spectator kitchen. its in the building where 'boosog' is upfront.

pag matagal tagal kayo dun, I suggest you rent a car if youre going to be travelling most of the time. pero mejo mahal. Like, we rented this van for about 2k for the whole day! we were like 10 people there, so 200 each.

Also, try Mama Maria's Pizza! 30inch for the win!!!! Its so-so in taste pero busog!!!:)

    Here's the pic:

Where are you going or what shots are you looking for?

Kawasan Falls and the South part of Cebu is accessible via aircon and ordinary bus. you can pictures of the old churches and house

    Car hire will be expensive.

To the North Bantayan , Camotes and Malapascua are great for beach shots but they are about 6 hours travel via bus.

You can try Mt. Mannugal and Cebu National Park for pictures.

Or I can give you the route of used for Gabii sa Kabilin which features Cebu's Museums, Ancestral House and other Heritage landmarks.

You have to go to the North Bus Terminal and look for the bus going to Hagnaya where you can pick up a boat ride 30mins to Bantayan , Sta. Fe

There are 2 Aircon Bus trips from Cebu and 2 Coming from Hagnaya . The buses are very new.

Anyways here is a great guide.

    http://wowbantayan.com/wowhome/index.php?page=directions-from-cebu-city

It is quite current and updated.

Try Zubuchon (best pig ever according to Anthony Bourdain) - they just opened two branches in Cebu, one along Mango Avenue and the other one at Escario

Visit Kawasan falls, two hours bus ride from the south bus terminal

Check out Tops, mountain view lookout - overlooking the city, just 20 minutes by taxi from the city center

Thanks all! i was thinking about malapascua but changed my mind after finding out how long it took to get there. Is Tops still a good place to go to? Its been more than 10 years since i last went there. One thing that i do miss would be all the the lechon stalls! :D cant wait to "PIG" out! hahahaha
