I've been dying to discuss this sitcom with someone. I'm halfway through season 2 and am thoroughly addicted. This is some good stuff here!

This is like a Gen-Y "Friends". It has the same sort of feel but is unique in premise, characters, and time-bending structure. It's an honest to goodness multicamera, laugh track sitcom, but it's real good fun and a lot better than i was expecting. I liked that the characters are about my age (late20's-early 30's) and the references are so spot on.

The characters are all very likeable and i've had more than a few occurrences of LOL funniness. Alyson Hannigan (Willow from Buffy!) plays her sweet but kooky girl to the hilt, and Cobie Smulders (reportedly Joss Whedon's choice for Wonder Woman) is an unknown Phoebe Cates lookalike with Jennifer Aniston's timing. Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser!) has the best cathcphrases as the show's resident a$$.

If you haven't yet seen it, go torrent the first two seasons. It's worth a watch. Then come back here and we'll talk about how "Legendary" this show is.

My wife and I have been longtime fans of this show, since the very first episode.

Kind of funny that the resident horndog and skirt chaser (NPH) is played by a gay man ... but still, he's hilarious.

Also funny how you mentioned almost all the characters except the lead ... he's got kind of a John Cusack vibe, if you ask me.

Wait for it ... LEGENDARY! (Suit up!)

P.S. Episode 3x01 is already out.

Holy Crap gotta get me some S03 haha.

Love Ted and Marshal- this ensemble is so strong though and it's so hard to pick favorites.

Getting my wife to watch it. The we can both wait for it... "Go To The Mall!"

This is one of our favorite shows. Better than Friends if you ask me.
The dialogue is spot on. Catch it if you still haven't.

well friends first 3-4 seasons were really good even excellent. by then all the story lines were so convoluted we didn't care anymore.

but by then we knew the characters so well that the story lines were kind of irrelevant. we were just watching for the characters.

i do like how i met your mother. it is laugh out loud funny. its funny but i think that the weakest character is the lead guy. maybe they'll start shifting around the stories and adjust accordingly.

the strength of that show is the ensemble cast.

One of the best shows around today. I get the Friends comparison in the sense that we get to love every character in the show regardless of his/her flaws and quirks. From Robin and Ted to Marshall and Lily and even Barney. This show will be around for some time and it's going to be.... (wait for it) LEGEN-DARY. Haha.. Just couldn't resist it.

Fave Eps: Slap Bet is the instant classic- i just can't help laughing when they slap each other silly. do they keep count of marshall's remaining slaps?

The one where Lily goes to meet the Eriksens was sooo funny also.

Dunno if i'd say BETTER than Friends, but it definitely hit the ground running a lot faster than Friends did. This ensemble was just hella good right from the first episode. I hope they get a chance to shine like Friends did in later seasons.
