ok, i'm giving up after tweaking with possible solutions...

i can't sign in with MS Messenger. It keeps on displaying "Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the internet."

first, i'm connected to to the internet. i've been checking out this forum to refer to MS Messenger threads.
second, i tried signing in throught the MSN website using my .net passport and it's working perfectly fine.

    therefore, i'm wondering what's wrong...

my network settings are all set to automatic configuration.

i'm able to use YM, so why can't i MSM?

    help please...

    this is exasperating!

I do get that error sometimes. I think the probably them there is your internet connection, though I'm not 100% sure about that. Try to restart your computer sometimes that works.

It is also possible that your university server blocked the port for MSN Messenger.

I also experience this "Gaim Error" everytime I connect to AGSB library Wifi.

So I assumed that IT blocked ports for chatting.

I also tried using Adium inside the classrooms through Airborne Access and it works

    perfectly.
