So I need to get my LCD replaced. Dropped my MacBook and broke it into a thousand pieces and had its parts replaced and put together only to get it back still broke. Apparently the Display's totally screwed na. So I wanted to ask you guys where I could get the best deal for an LCD. Online? Is it worth it? Or should I just get one from an Apple Reseller (I asked and they estimated the damned thing to be about twenty frickin thousand bucks)?

Your help is very much appreciated.

Your best bet would be to order one online then have it installed locally (I know Ynzal will be able to do this, for a fee). Here are a couple of links to get your started:

    ScreenTek.com
    PowerbookMedic.com

Make sure you get the exact same LCD panel that's in your MB. Also, are you sure the display is the only thing broken now? You might spend a lot of cash getting the LCD only to find that it still won't work.

you get one locally for P8500.. assuming your macbook's lcd panel is the old type and not the newer backlit type.

Okay, I found one at PowerbookMedic.com. But now I'm worried how much more than $118.95 I have to spend. I mean, apart from shipping do I need to pay for anything else?

    Thanks for your help btw.

You'll need to pay the service charge for replacing the LCD (unless you're doing it yourself). I suggest calling Ynzal, ask them to give you an idea as to how much it would cost. Make it clear that you'll be supplying the LCD, they just need to install it for you.

One hidden charge you should be aware is the local customs charges. I'm not really sure how much but because they determine the amount you pay.
