Hi All, Can anybody tell me how to remove the scorch marks on my/boss' Macbook Pro? If this one was discussed before, can anybody direct me to the thread? My boss accidentally closed his MBP while its still hot thus creating keyboard burn marks on the matte screen. He plans on selling the MBP (2.33GHZ, 2GB, 17") to me for a good price but I am having doubts because of the screen. If this thing can not be removed without resorting to screen replacement, then I might have to sell it (or help him sell it) =( Thanks! Socorro
Hey Socorro, if its an exterior burn, it will be more manageable than if it is external, i suggest you bring it to an authorize reseller to have a proffesional opinion. but at the long run, even if he sells to you at a cheap price, why not just buy a new MB, clearly the thing gets hot and not comfy to use, and with just maybe a couple of bucks more or less you can get yourself a new one and a piece of mind. but if ever you are going to buy it: be sure to have all documents and transaction at hand, make sure you are buying legit. you dont want to be "Dj"ed, if you know what i mean
@Tecson Haha, yeah DJ-ed. Yes, I've been gathering the documents for this one and already made sure that the MBP is legit. I just started this thread for a faster and, well, cheaper/free solution. The MBP is already out of warranty *shucks* so I am sure I will shed big bucks for any service on the monitor. Actually, I already a have a Macbook for my own and was thinking of buying this one for just my family to use. Maybe I should just sell this one to the Marketplace. Oh well.
This made my day! Socorro: Why not just buy a MBP from the marketplace that still has a warranty that way the unit is till protected? Just my two cents
