Have you heard of Gamehopper (www.gamehopper.com.ph)?

Haven't tried them personally, but am also interested in hearing feedback about them and any other such service.

I use Gamehopper and have no problems so far. Pretty reliable and haven't had trouble getting the games I want (though I tend to be picking out older games).

In the long run, it comes out cheaper for me because I invariably grow bored or disappointed with a game after buying it and I just wind up feeling mad at myself for having wasted the money.

^^^ I'm having the same habit sir vic. I buy a game, finish it...then wonder when I'd play the game again. Thanks for this link!

^^ I also recommend gamehopper. Excellent selection of games for all consoles including PS3. Playing Resistance 2 right now. As for blu-rays, I also would want to know if there is any rental outfit out there :)

Really? Hey never knew that. Useful info.

How much do they charge and how's the selection?

wow! excellent link! been holding of on a PS3 purchase not because of the cost of the console, but the cost of the games themselves. it never even occurred to me that there was such a shop like this.

Don't really know how much, Vic, as I don't have a BD player and haven't rented one yet. They seem to have the latest titles (released on BD) for sale or for rent. Talk to Betty or Ruben (wife and husband owner).

Oh, they take orders too for titles they don't have - usually takes a couple of weeks (via some stewardess business partners). They accept credit card payments too.

mmm....I called up Spectra this morning and no BD rentals just yet, only for sale (from 1,400 up). They do sell R1 DVD, unsealed titles from 400 up.

I, for one, can't wait to jump the BD bandwagon if a reliable rental place opens up. The only lead I can find is from pinoydvd.com. One of the sub-forum there has members trading/renting BD discs from their personal collection (with deposit and rental fee).

I regularly visit spectra, I buy most of my DVDs and BDs from Spectra. about 90% of my 400++ collection came from them.

    Re: Gamehopper help!

I personally think its the best thing ever created for the gaming market !

I realised I needed this when I got a new game for my pamamkin and she finished the whole game that same DAY !

    What a waste of P2k !

Now.. if you finish it too fast... who cares.. just get another one... and if you like it - you can keep as long as you want....
Just remember you can only rent one game at a time with their service.

I was a subscriber to a service identical to this for over 5 years !
