Just wondering if anyone is using Blu Ray burners on their Macs and where to get them? I was thinking of getting one to store family pictures and videos.

I do have a hard drive in Raid1 but, I would like to have a different back up in case that back up fails too.

Out of curiosity, how much does a blank bluray cost nowadays?

I considered this option before for my 2nd backup, but at that time, buying an external hard drive was cheaper. I can see an external Bluray writer at tipidpc for 5k but was listed November last year. Not easy to find at olx, too, except for that 13k unit that can also playback 3D. Even if at 5k, I'd go the external hard drive route. Cheaper at Amazon though, in the $50 range.

Got my Blu-Ray external drive at Amazon along with some Blu-Ray movies. Had it shipped here via JAC.

I use the drive to rip Blu-Ray movies which serves as backups in case anything happens to the disks. It's cheaper to buy several Blu-Ray movies in Amazon & have it sent here either by JAC or LBC.
