And I thought only the buggy iBlog software was the only solution. Just got my .mac renewal package a few days ago. This should make the most of it. Thanks.

Although I'm currently using RapidWeaver, Blog.mac looks very promising. I'll probably give it a try. Thanks for the heads up!

yup, and as you'll see if you refresh the page, i haven't done much else all morning but fill it up some more. yegads, this thing is addictive! (especially for someone with tons of blogging material stashed away...)

it's pretty much drag and drop, by the way; you just have to punch in a couple of hard returns after every paragraph, italicize stuff, etc. i haven't even toyed with the customizable templates yet (i think blogger has a cleaner interface and nicer fonts, but i'll get to that). the nice thing is how well blog.mac works with your homepage and idisk. not cheap at $30--but then again, what price brazen self-promotion, he he? :)

this is an old, old thread, but i'm just reviving it to announce that while i still have my blog at http://homepage.mac.com/jdalisay/blog/MyBlog.html, i've managed to shorten that long URL down to www.penmanila.net, thanks to yahoo's $1.99/yr promo on domain names :) there's nothing on penmanila.net itself, but i'm able to use "masked forwarding" to ride on the domain name and shuttle all hits there to my existing blog.

to check out that yahoo offer, click http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/

$1.99 for your first year (9.95 succeeding) isn't a bad deal, i think, for your own domain name. sweet! :)

thanks for the tip! been wanting to have my own domain name for our budding family site:D 9.95 for succeeding years is a great deal (yahoo pa yan).

how'd you avail of the $1.99 for the 1st year? i visited the link and was about to register but did not find any reference to the $1.99/yr. offer? is it only in the US?

hmm, that's odd--when i click on the link, it sends me to a page where, on the upper right, you see the 9.95 crossed out and replaced by 1.99 (for new accounts only). i'm sure that refers to new domain accounts, not yahoo accounts, since i've had my yahoo email for years. are you seeing the same thing?

even at the full price of 9.95 (500 pesos), pwede na rin. but i should warn you that aside from getting the domain name, you can only put up a page of information on a fixed template (i did the same thing for my wife's company--see the sample at www.acesinc.info. to actually upload your own photos, use html, etc. you'll have to pay more. me, i just needed the domain name to simplify my blog URL for easier circulation. good luck and tell me how it goes :)
