So the new 2016 MBP just came out, but I've decided to get the 2015 version. Anyone has the knowledge of when the 2015 one will have the highest discounted price in the Philippines? And which retailer do you recommend to buy from?

Count me in! I felt like sometimes simplifying things too much by getting rid of some of these ports but the space and weight savings goes to the additional burden of having to bring along an adapter for your older devices appear to be contrary to their concept of simplicity through minimalism. I like it to be there all the time whenever I need it. I mean, what's a few grams of gain in weight when in practice I could hardly feel the difference rather than putting up with the inconvenience of being not able to do something because you forgot or left the adapters at home. But other than this concern, I think the forthcoming release is cool. Well, maybe someday I'll eventually get used to the way things are done with those ports gone as I need those for work.

I'm also looking and waiting for the best deal for old MBP. So far, I think my bet is from BTB via BDO card 20% off to be bought on Nov. 23, before the Mercury Retrograde kicks in (cosmic phenomenon that jams tech, communication, transpo - personally experienced :p). Or wait 'til Jan. next year when the retrograde fades and holiday sales are almost over, probably in time when new models arrive here and old ones get more discounts.

Does the 20% discount include the MBP? Anyone tried buying one using the discount?

Decided to buy the 2015 model as well. Pissed that I had to wait since June for the launch only to settle for the older model.
