Thinking of switching ISPs (currently on Smart Bro/PLDT Home Wimax/Canopy) and Globe said that in our area, they can only install a Globe Home LTE (wireless) connection and not DSL.

If I'm thinking of getting their plan up to 5Mbps, is this as reliable as a PLDT DSL 5Mbps plan?

Leaning towards Globe because 5Mbps is only 1599/mo vs PLDT's 1999/mo.
Globe even includes a landline with unli calls to Globe/TM.

    What do you guys think?

Globe LTE for home has the same daily capping as their DSL plans. For 5Mbps plan the daily cap is 10GB then it goes to 1.5Mbps after you consume the allowance.

been looking for years for better alternative, but still stuck with crappy PLDT for no-cap DSL, even have to pay landline for it and just found out nobody at home mind the disconnected landline cable for months, no one mind it doesn't ring for months,

I signed up for Globe Tattoo Platinum. P2,500 for 50mbps locked for 2 years. With landline and unlicalls to Globe cellphones, HOOQ streaming, Spotify Premium and NBA League Pass. Upgraded from PLDT DSL 999 3mbps and I'm very satisfied with the speed and service.

I think both DSL providers are trying to lock up their subscribers with new packages for the next 2 tears to preempt Telstra' entry to the Philippines next year/

skybroadband just released upgraded packages and here are the reasonably priced ones:

    1599/mo - 8mbps + basic cable
    1999/mo - 16mbps broadband alone

we're paying 2k+ for 3.5mbps crappy pldt dsl. globe has already released new plans as well. we also have 2mbps backup with skybroadband bundled with cable which surprisingly performs well for mobile device (tablets/phones) browsing. all the laptops at home still using the pldt connection. your move, pldt.

Did your Globe agent asked if you still had a broadband subscription from a different ISP? It's because they have this promo wherein you can get six months free if you switch to a Globe Tattoo Home plan, including Platinum plans. http://tattoo.globe.com.ph/promos/switch-now#details

10mbps with 80gb cap for P2499 is not a promo at all since they are already selling 50mbps unlimited for the same price

I was disappointed with this, after speaking with a sales rep I was advised that my smartbro was eligible for this promo for platinum....unfortunately when I was finalizing the application I was told that the current isp for replacement should be a wired service. Still pushed through with my application though, scheduled for installation tomorrow. I hope they can deliver on their promise and I hope it works well with Playstation Network
