apps for changing icons

    hi guys need your help! just got my mac from mac center in greenbelt.. my mac crashed! so now im installing a lot of things back! anyway im familiar with candy bar. i was able to change some icons now, but its on trial period and for some reason after a day cant open it anymore..

    do you guys know any program i can use to change my other icons?

    You can change your icon within your OS. Open the picture you want to use as an icon in Preview. Press Command-C to copy. Then click the file or folder you want the icon changed. Press Command-I to open Get Info. Click the small icon you will see on the top left corner. Press Command-V and you now have a new icon. You can use Grab.app which is built in Mac OS to take pictures that you want to use as an icon. Save the picture. Do the same instruction to replace an existing icon

    Search and download Micon. It's freeware wherein you simply drag and drop the icons you want and the target file or folder.

    thanks guys! but cant seem to replace the icon in user.. the shared icon i was able to change but my personal user cant be changed.. its the icon with the house on it

    I just get mine from InterfaceLIFT and Iconfactory.

    you still use candy bar, find all related app for candy bar then install it again.

    delete it first the old candy bar app and install a new one i mean

    you might also want to play with Pixadex, companion program to CandyBar. I heard the Leopard version of Candybar includes this already (v.3)
