application used for switching desktop

    i've been trying to look for a free application where i could switch desktops like in linux. the effect is like keynote's block transition. help pls. . .my eyes are getting heavy already. . .i couldn't find it, thanks!

    by the way im using intel duo.

    maybe you are looking for that thing that happens when you change users/accounts. it's somewhere there.

    What jmamangun is referring to is the Fast User Switching feature. You can enable it by going to System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Options. Check the box labeled "Enable fast user switching". It's meant to easily switch between different user accounts, not really as virtual desktop switcher.

    Right now, you can use the free VirtueDektops.

    The next version of OS X, Leopard, will have virtual desktops built-in and it will be called Spaces.

    If you're looking for a linux-like desktop switching, then try getting http://virtuedesktops.info/, that's what I use for my G3 iBook. YMMV
