I didn't watch Mythic Quest so I wasn't interested in watching their last/special episode. I gave it a go last night. Possibly the best episode in Apple TV+ right now! Stands on its own.
Tom Hanks is still the king of Hollywood movies, well, any movie he’s in, in fact. He may not anymore have the same charisma as a Forrest Gump or a Captain Miller or a Chuck Noland but he still way, way up there. And despite critical reviews against Greyhound the movie, accolades for Hanks are still there and wide. Greyhound is like a cross between U-571 and that naval fight scene in Master and Commander. 8/10
I love Mythic Quest! Amazing also their last episode. Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao) has filipino blood pala.
mm...depends. Some are still on free subscription because of an eligible device purchase. Some are paid from the start. I plan to purchase once my free subscription expires.
i paid. I dont want to keep changing accounts so I just decided to pay. just trying it out this month. still a pretty lean library. But Greyhound was worth it. will rewatch it later.
Greyhound 9/10 Was expecting a more drama filled, character driven flick. Instead I got an action packed movie reminiscent of Hunt for Red October and Master & Commander. I like it.
^ it's only 1 1/2 hours long and not a minute wasted. I was wondering whether the scene with Elizabeth Shue was even necessary but I suppose they needed to humanize Hank's character.
Yeah, action from the get-go!! Tom Hanks is really an international treasure. He wrote the screenplay, apparently, after getting hold of a book (with a different title). If you listen to Conan's podcast, "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend", he talked to Tom Hanks just this past week (Episode 79) about the movie and how it all came together. Fun interview, too!
Apple is set to roll out subscription bundles soon. Apple's even launching virtual fitness classes in its priciest bundle. https://variety.com/2020/digital/news/apple-subscription-bundles-tv-music-1234733984/
This might be a helpful guide to know what to watch from Apple TV+'s (limited-as-of-now) offerings including some recent additions: https://9to5mac.com/2020/08/12/apple-tv-plus-tv-shows-movies-guide/
Ted Lasso is now showing on Apple TV+. I like it so far after watching the pilot. Premise is like of Major League where the owner hates their team that's why Ted Lasso, an American football coach with no knowledge of soccer, is brought on to manage a top flight English football club. I'm a football fan so I understand the football culture that the show presents. It's a light comedy and easy to watch.
