In order for Apple TV+ to compete with the likes of Netflix and Disney+ they need a combination of original content and existing properties. Disney+ substantially increased their customer base just on the strength of their existing movie library. They only launched 1 original series last year ( Mandalorian) and will definitely compete with Netflix for streaming supremacy with the planned release of their MCU and Star Wars spin offs. HBO Max is also going to be a key player this year on the strength of their business strategy of releasing Warner Bros movies simultaneous to the cinema release ( Dune, Godzilla vs Kong, Suicide Squad, Mortal Kombat, Matrix 4). Apple is just not aggressive enough in either producing or buying (Greyhound) contents.
