Apple today (18 June 2009) released Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0 for all Macs with Bluetooth based on Broadcom chipsets. This update provides bug fixes and better compatibility with the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard. It installs on all Macintosh systems with Bluetooth based on the Broadcom chipset. The update weighs in at 1.78 MB and requires OS X 10.5.7.
To check if your Mac has Bluetooth based on the Broadcom chipset, and therefore eligible for this update, go to Apple, About This Mac, and click on More Info ... Once the System Profiler panel appears, check out the Hardware section on the left panel, and click on Bluetooth. Info will show up on the right panel, and look at the manufacturer.
I upgraded my Bluetooth Firmware already on my 15" Macbook Pro and I still get the occasional drop in connection.
it doesn't trigger so I downloaded from the site. Upon installing, it says I don't need the update so I guess this is an automatic update
