anyone trying out clamxav (free antivirus for mac)?

    medyo na-praning lang ako kasi 4 of our PCs here were infected,, tapos naka-network yung ibook ko sa kanila.. i'm using their HDs as external drives e..

    so i tried downloading clamxav...

    any feedback from those who thave already tried it?

    imho, its just a waste of disk space & cpu cycle UNLESS you intend to send out MS Office documents/files to Windows-using people as email attachments

    yeah, i'll be sending out MSOffice docs to people... how about opening the same docs from them? will my system be safe if i don't use an AV?

    ClamXav, unlike some PC anti-virus programs, does not have a passive scanning agent... it's all manually operated... so it does not take up cpu cycles unless you tell it to scan. I'm using it now making once-a-month scans and it does intercept viruses (rarely) from my vpc installation. Can't be too safe these days...

    Virtual PC, I had install Windows for testing out my sites on that antiquated dinosaur of a browser Internet Explorer.
