Not really sure if this qualifies as a game so I just placed it here. Anyways, is anyone else playing MacHeist? www.macheist.com A short description is: "MacHeist is an event for Mac users who are addicted to great software. The event centers around the safe. Each week, you will undergo a heist, and on completion, receive a combo code to unlock the safe. The reward? Free, cool apps, and money off the final week's bundle. We're not saying what's in the bundle yet. But, frankly, it's the best Mac software bundle that's ever been put together, and if you participate in the weekly heists, you'll be able to grab it for a rather ridiculous price." Basically, each week you get to try and solve these Mac-related mystery cases. When you do, you get a 4-number code to open tha vault giving you all these free apps. It's going on it's third week now and I didn't crack the first week but I passed the second week and got myself two free apps: 1password and Cha-Ching. The forums on the site actually are full of spoilers...so it often gets easy to figure out the clues eventually. Sadly, I think you have to be invited to be able to play the game. So if anyone else is playing, let's share some clues!
I just registered. it's kinda exciting nad very challenging. I have a vague clue for the current heist but I have extracted alphabets from the "The Edge" letter.
i've signed up. on to the third heist... in case you get stucked up, there's always the backroom. so far, if you've done all the heists, you should be getting 7 apps in your loot.
After reading The Backroom.. I finally cracked it. Thanks to the brilliant guys who had all the time to analyze the puzzle
Okay, so the message spells out winston mcford .com next mp4. What do I do with that? Winstonmcford.com leads to an origami site... Edit: Whoops, okay I just checked out The Backroom...
Yeah it'all there, but it's fun to analyze it yourself. Amazing how'd they find those Alphabet shaped buildings on Google Earth I'll try to solve the 3rd heist on my own soon
MacHeist 3 is out! Grabe this was a hard one. But I will give it to the MacHeist directorate, I loved how they executed it. You get about 40 dollars worth of free apps.
There's a picture frame in the main page of Macheist. Make sure you're logged in, drag the picture frame, and click the loot bag behind it. You'll get DevonNote, Hana, and Billy Frontier.
Just played MacHeist 3. I got KavaTunes, ShoveBox, the "Love & Romance" Stationery Pack (perfect for Valentine's) and Process after playing 3 game levels. All-in-all, around US$107 worth of apps for free. How useful those apps are, I'll have to see, but from the descriptions, I think I might find ShoveBox mighty useful. We'll see...
