    just a though... my idea of mac users are people who are open minded, radical, gentle, non-conformists, and above all else... just plain wise. so i thought, the same traits are also common to most vegetarian people i know, hence the question:

    are there vegetarian muggers here? :p

    I used to be a non-meat eater. That was as close as I got to being a vegetarian. I stayed that way for over a year (lost 15 kilos as a result). However, being in the restaurant business, I had no choice but to eat meat during food tastings. Then i rediscovered beef, and chicken, pork, veal, lamb, duck... I've been a carnivore since. So much so that I'm about to open a all-steak resto. hahaha! It's carbs that I'm now avoiding.

    I guess this explains why I'm such a taray mod. :)

    During my non-meat life, I realized I lost my short-temperedness. I believe there is a correlation.

    When I started being buddhist I went vegetarian. But then a Buddhist guy from Thailand who told me that Buddha didn't really forbid his followers to eat meat. So I gave in to my cravings for flesh... I mean meat.

    Fish and veggies only for yours truly, no mammals/fouls.

    Nothing to do with Zen, new age, humanitarian ewan-ewan. Purely selfish reasons.

    May high-blood ako kaya dehin na puwede.:)

    Yup, saved the 2-legged, 4-legged ones; also the multi-legged crustaceans because of allergy.
    No pork and any processed pork since '84 (mom's decision);
    No beef since '98 (mine), hoping to go full vegan but work dictates being pesca a necessity. Mostly tofu for fish sub at home, though. : ) This is not to say, though, that all's a 'clean' life. Cant kick some bad habits : p

    I work in reverse naman. When I'm on a no-meat diet mainit ang ulo ko. Haha! I guess anyone who's not being properly fed would get into a bad mood. Kaya nga we have that expression.. "gutom lang yan."

    Hi Sui_Generis!

    How did I start... well, i started hating zoology classes because i had to purchase dead animals (specifically, a frog, a shark, a chicken, and a domestic cat) for dissection. It was then that I started looking for alternatives to the poor educational method that our univerity had installed for us. Luckily, my sister at that time was already vegetarian. She shared her literatures (and some NASTY videos about animals being inhumanly slaughtered in, well, slaughterhouses), and upon knowing that it was clearly a better lifestyle, I switched.

    Its good that you have the will... but a better reason to switch is if you have a reason.

    So here, let me give you some reasons to switch:

    I can give you a vegetarian starter kit from PETA if your want. PM me for details. :)
