My husband picked up a couple of books on his travels and i've been hooked ever since. I must say it's made 3 hour doctor's clinic waits much more bearable!

For those who have no idea what it is, it's like crossword puzzles but work with numbers. You can play it online against the time and other players here: www.sudoku.com :)

My wife and I are bigtime Sudoku addicts, although we play the Astraware version on our respective Palm units (my Treo, her Tungsten2).

I've yet to play Sudoku with pen and paper.

My mom stumbled upon Sudoku went we went to Singapore about a month ago and since then we have become big time Sudoko addicts. We even got the table top version (although it's still a bit small if you ask me) where you just put pegs so that it's easier to change your answers if your not sure :)

Actually, I describe it to people as a three-dimensional crossword/logic puzzle.

For a lot of folks who hate math (like myself) the sight of all the numbers is initially off-putting. but the reality is that Sudoku isn't a math puzzle. I believe you could even use fruits or letters of the alphabet instead of numbers.

Yup...my book's introduction says that technically speaking, you don't even need to know how to count. :)

Just wanted to add that having started out with pen and paper, it's been a real thrill to discover that i can play the game on my iBook. The Palm software sounds enticing. Thanks for the tip!

AKC...that table top version sounds great! Where'd you get it in Singapore?

This game is both addicting and frustrating. The temptation to "cheat" is always there, especially on the hard levels :D
