Still haven't found anything that rivals Virtual Pool 3 on the PC, and was wondering if anyone out there has seen something that has.

And no, playing online pool on Yahoo Games doesn't count =P

Bought this a long time ago, and enjoyed it immensely.

Graphics were excellent, the physics were spot on, and it was easy to play.

Virtual Pool is a bit more realistic, I suppose (although I can't say for sure because I never really played it), but Maximum Pool did a good job of entertaining me during dead time at the office.

I'm going to dig it up and try to see if it plays natively in OS X. There is a Mac OS X Updater released for it but I never got to try it.

Am not aware of anything more current. Can lend it to you if you like. (For evaluation purposes, of course.)
