I bought myself an HP AirPrint printer - but could not get AirPrint to maintain it's online connection after powering up the printer. I am able to print a page or two, then after a minute, the printer shows as Offline and could not be connected to the network without shutting down then powering up the printer once again. In my experience, instead of AirPrint, I ended up installing all the Mac drivers and software just to make the printer consistently available Online and ready to print. The printer is consistently online if I choose not to AirPrint. I use a home router from my telco - but I don't know how to test if Bonjour works and is setup properly. The router has not been changed from its default setting since it was installed. The firmware of the printer has been updated too. IPP is enabled on the router. I've contacted HP support, and they aren't helpful on resolving AirPrint. I suspect they are more familiar with using drivers than AirPrint (where the real issue is). I tried to print using the iPhone and iPad, and got the same issue - printer goes offline after around a minute. I had to install apps so that I could print without using AirPrint. I could continue using the app and the software from the manufacturer to print without AirPrint. But then I wonder and still want to use AirPrint as it saves me a few steps of printing stuff - should the AirPrint be working out of the box without needing to setup? What should I further check on my end?
